Life at Tour Frontier

A Team That Builds What It Loves

Tour Frontier is a travel technology company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with a fully distributed team spanning 12 countries. We're a small, focused team of engineers, designers, product managers, and travel specialists who share one thing in common: a genuine obsession with making travel better.

We're not a traditional travel agency, and we're not just another booking site. We're building the AI-powered travel platform that we always wished existed — one that understands context, adapts in real time, and treats every traveler as an individual rather than a transaction. That mission requires people who think deeply, move quickly, and care about the details.

Our team is intentionally small. We believe that a tight-knit group of exceptional people, given the right tools and autonomy, can outperform a much larger organization. Every person at Tour Frontier has a meaningful impact on the product and the company's direction. There are no layers of bureaucracy between your ideas and shipping them.

We're remote-first by design, not by necessity. Our async-first culture means you can do your best work from wherever you're most productive — whether that's a home office in Austin, a co-working space in Lisbon, or a café in Chiang Mai. We meet as a full team twice a year for in-person retreats, and we cover all travel costs.

What We Look For

The Qualities We Hire For

Curiosity Over Credentials

We care far more about how you think than where you went to school or what your job title was. We look for people who ask 'why' before 'how', who read widely, and who are genuinely excited to learn things outside their domain.

Ownership Mentality

We don't have managers who tell people what to do. We hire people who identify problems, propose solutions, and see them through to completion. If something is broken, we expect you to fix it — or at least flag it loudly.

Clear Communication

In a remote-first environment, writing is your superpower. We look for people who can explain complex ideas simply, give direct feedback kindly, and document their work so others can build on it.

Genuine Love of Travel

You don't need to have visited 50 countries, but you should care about the problem we're solving. The best product decisions come from people who have personally felt the frustration of planning a trip across 12 browser tabs.

Our Hiring Process

When we do open roles, we run a straightforward, respectful hiring process. We don't believe in take-home assignments that take 10 hours, and we don't do trick questions. Here's what to expect:

01

Application Review

We read every application carefully. If your background looks like a fit, we reach out within 5 business days.

02

Intro Call

A 30-minute video call with someone from the team to learn about your background and answer your questions about the role.

03

Skills Assessment

A focused, paid take-home task (max 2 hours) relevant to the actual work you'd be doing. We pay for your time.

04

Final Interview

A 60-minute conversation with the hiring manager and one team member. We discuss your assessment and go deeper on culture fit.

Working at Tour Frontier — Travel Tech Careers

Remote-First CultureTour Frontier is remote-first by design, not by necessity. Our team of 50 is distributed across 12 countries — from Dallas and London to Singapore and Buenos Aires. We've built an async-first culture where great work happens regardless of time zone. We meet twice a year for in-person retreats (all travel costs covered), and we use tools like Notion, Linear, and Slack to stay aligned without requiring everyone to be online at the same time.
Benefits & CompensationWe offer competitive market-rate salaries benchmarked against top-tier tech companies, meaningful equity packages, a $3,000 annual travel stipend (because we build travel tools and we should use them), full medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, a $1,500 annual learning budget, and flexible working hours. We care about output and impact, not hours logged or when you start your day.
Who We HireWe hire for curiosity, ownership, and a genuine love of travel. We don't require specific degrees or pedigree — we care about how you think, how you communicate, and whether you're excited about the problem we're solving. Our team includes former engineers from Google, Airbnb, and Expedia alongside self-taught developers, designers who started as travel bloggers, and product managers who came from the travel industry. What unites us is a shared belief that travel makes people better, and that technology can make travel better.
